AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Broomly, commonly encapsulated as 'Uber for Home Services,' announces their seed investing round for $1.3M. The Austin-based digital-on-demand home services company will use the capital infusion to extend their services to include pest control, plumbing, HVAC, laundry, and handyman services in additional cities nationwide. Additional expansion will include smart home services via the Broomly Home Services Platform for IoT service aggregation and maintenance management.
"Broomly is using technology to disrupt a massive ($400B) antiquated market, solving the problem of having to seek different vendors for every service," said co-investor Hugh Forrest, Director of SXSW Interactive.
Forrest is one of one of six investors in the initial seed round, including Adam Zeplain, Venture Capitalist and Board Member of Branch Basics; Dan Graham and Blake Borgeson, Co-founders of BuildASign; Marc Winkelman, CEO of Calendar Holdings LLC; Andy Bursten, Founder and President of Coastal Telephone Company and Former Chairmen of CyrusOne; Joe Ross, Co-founder of CSIdentity; Curtis Howard, of Lexus; Alex Andrawes, Founder of PersonalWine.com; Russell Hinds, Managing Director, RSH Ventures; Mark Hawkins, CFO of Salesforce; and Herb Simon, Co-Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Simon Property Group Inc. and Owner of the Indiana Pacers.
"Offering high quality work at low prices, Broomly differentiates themselves by combining technology and awesome customer service," said Jerry Sun, co-founder of Broomly. Sun is one of three co-founders, including Matt Hawkins and Joe Shiraz.
"Broomly is doing something that no other home service provider is doing and that is using data to make home management more efficient and less costly," said Graham. "Everything from groceries to transportation is accessible in the palm of your hand these days, so why not make household services just as simple and accessible?"
"While other competitors try to create similar service offerings, their model ends up being either low quality and low cost - or if high quality, unnecessarily expensive. Broomly offers the coveted balance of high quality and low cost. Most importantly, you can trust our service providers in your home, and feel good knowing we pay them more than the industry standard. The result is feeling great about who you have chosen all the way around," said Hawkins.
Below are just some of the ways that Broomly is providing solutions to the current home service industry's biggest problems;
