Brownsville Navigation District Cruise Committee Named
BROWNSVILLE, Texas, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Brownsville Navigation District named the members of the Cruise Committee which will shepherd the Cruise Line Study through to completion. The committee is composed of stakeholders in the process and the eventual attraction of a cruise line to homeport at a terminal at the port. The members of the Cruise Committee and their affiliations are Port Director Eduardo A. Campirano, Deputy Port Director Donna Eymard, and Commissioner Ralph Cowen, Brownsville Navigation District; Scott Friedman Board Member and Carolyn Bogardus Interim Director of the Port Isabel EDC; Alderman Rick Rodolfi and Mayor Bob Pinkerton, South Padre Island; Commissioner Sofia Benavides, and Deputy County Administrator David Garcia of Cameron County and Jose Mulet, Director of Marketing, Valley International Airport (Harlingen, TX).
All of the members met with the consultants from the Passenger & Shipping Institute and Maritime Direction Corp during their recent field trip. The consultants outlined the study plan and reviewed the economic benefits of developing a cruise terminal and attracting a cruise line.
