LAS VEGAS, Dec. 22, 2015 Bruce Merrin's Celebrity Speakers (www.brucemerrinscelebrityspeakers.com), one of the elite bureaus worldwide, celebrates its 42 year anniversary this week. Legendary Jackie Robinson, Brooklyn Dodgers superstar, and member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, was the first sports star that Merrin booked. Jackie wore number 42 on his uniform! The company has booked every past president starting with President Reagan For personal appearances.
Johnny Carson and Michael Landon sparked the idea for the company 42 years ago. Merrin had booked his client, Michael Landon, on the "Tonight Show." After the guesting, Johnny Carson invited Landon and Merrin to dinner at at Carson's lavish Malibu home. As the waves rolled in from the majestic Pacific Ocean, Carson suggested that Bruce launch a Celebrity Speakers Bureau. Johnny said, "I'll be your first client," then Landon said, "I'll be your second one." The next day, Ed McMahon became the third client!
A few of the bookings the past year include Dr. Wayne Dyer, William Shatner, Uri Geller, Dick Enberg, Fran Drescher, Jerry Tarkanian, Steve Garvey, Wayne Allyn Root and Cheryl Landon.
