BTS Releases Cellular Management Software, Praefectus

Industry leader releases cutting-edge software which enables rapidly deployable 3G/4G communications.

COLUMBIA, Md., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, BTS™ announced the release of Praefectus™, a secure web-based cellular management interface that runs on top of existing cellular core network systems, providing essential capabilities for mobile and rapidly deployable cellular networks to operate at peak performance in difficult operating environments.

The Praefectus web-based interface allows the operator to manage the entire capabilities of a cellular network such as Voice, Data and SMS with a fraction of the training time required to manage commercial cellular networks. Praefectus also provides users advanced network monitoring and device management capabilities so they can see exactly how the cellular network is being utilized and if there are any security breaches.

The Praefectus software and hardware is installed on a single computer with each individual cellular base station and allows each base station to operate autonomously and scale as a mesh network by dynamically synchronizing location registries and routing calls with other Praefectus enabled base stations.

The system is radio agnostic in that it can utilize Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) equipment, including the iPad, iPhone and Android phone.
