"Digital companies continue to expand and grow here in the City of Chicago," said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. "I am excited by the growth that is occurring in the digital market as Chicago sees more jobs in the field, more startups and more opportunity. I look forward to what these innovative digital companies will continue to do, and I know they will contribute to economic growth here in Chicago during this next year."

Enova, #3 on the list, ended 2012 with $661MM in revenue and $140MM in EBITDA.  This represents an annual revenue growth rate the last four years of 31%. "We're excited to be ranked alongside many other Chicago-based market leaders and giants in the global tech community," said David Fisher, CEO, Enova. "Enova's growth is fueled by our Customer First focus and our aim to create a dynamic work environment that attracts top talent.  We are proud to be a Chicago born-and-raised company and thankful for the supportive environment which enables technology companies here to thrive."

And, for the majority of the Top 100 companies, their success was not created overnight. 66% of the companies being recognized are more than ten years old.  One such company, kCura, is a privately held software company founded in 2001. "We're excited to be recognized among so many great companies on Built In Chicago's list," said Andrew Sieja, president and CEO of kCura. "We love this city, and we love that our clients and hardworking team make it possible for us to keep building great software here."
