Business and Thought Leaders Convened with Social Entrepreneurs to Accelerate Innovation in the Americas at the Fourth Annual abc* Continuity Forum

MIAMI, Nov. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A sold-out crowd gathered at the fourth annual abc* Continuity Forum together with luminaries, CEOs and social entrepreneurs to discuss innovative solutions for pressing global issues this past November 13-14 at the Mandarin Oriental in Miami, Florida.

Notable experts at this year's Forum included Nobel Laureate Dr. Daniel Kahneman; Pulitzer Laureate Nicholas D. Kristof; X Prize Foundation Chairman and CEO Dr. Peter Diamandis; Grupo Televisa CEO Emilio Azcárraga Jean; and Grupo Omnilife CEO Angelica Fuentes.

The two-day conference invited 23 Ashoka Fellows, social entrepreneurs who are tackling issues of the environment, technology, education and energy, to present on their initiatives and findings. Three of these social entrepreneurs will be selected to win a $100,000 grant along with mentorship, media and marketing support from the abc* and its partners over the next two years to help create lasting solutions.

During the forum, Dr. Kahneman discussed his studies on how influencers can formulate decision-making that produce greater gains, while Kristof explored how story telling can help create empathy and opportunities to transform lives. Azcárraga and Fuentes, both Mexican-born CEOs and abc* Foundation co-chairs, shared crucial insights about the global economy and marketplace and on how the Forum serves to support the next class of social entrepreneurs. Diamandis closed the Forum with an optimistic presentation about the exponential growth of technology and its historical track record for solving social issues.
