Business Communicators across 17 States Begin Entering their Top Programs in 2014 Silver Quill Awards Program
COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Professionals in business communications, public relations, graphic design, marketing and related fields can now enter their best programs performed in 2013 and 2014 in the Silver Quill Awards Program, organized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Heritage Region.
Spanning 17 states and Washington, D.C., the Silver Quill Program is open to IABC members as well as non-members. Winning entries demonstrate outstanding work that meets clear business objectives―e.g., boosting revenue, reducing cost and motivating audiences to a desired action.
Winners will be recognized in a variety of ways, including external announcements and a presentation at the IABC Heritage Region Conference, taking place in Providence, R.I., Oct. 19 - 21, 2014.
"The Silver Quill Program provides a fantastic opportunity for communication strategists, creative professionals and other business communicators to analyze their work, gain recognition and get valuable feedback," said Amy Miller, chair, 2014 IABC Heritage Region Silver Quill Program. "IABC offers a unique program that elevates our profession and our work."

New in 2014:
- A convenient and proven online entry tool (AwardSentry) will save entrants time, as well as packaging, duplication and shipping costs.

How does evaluation work?
Each entry is evaluated independently by at least two trained evaluators who provide scoring and feedback. Evaluators look for evidence of careful planning and documentation of an entry's success through well-defined objectives with measurable results. Quantitative results are highly desired.
Evaluators consider how well a program is conceived, created and executed for its intended audiences, and how appropriate the strategy and objectives are in relation to the results desired and achieved. All evaluations receive a quality control check.
