Business Strategy: The Public-Private Divide in Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) Healthcare
LONDON, Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Reportbuyer.com just published a new market research report:
Business Strategy: The Public-Private Divide in Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) Healthcare
This IDC Health Insights study aims to unearth the common trends that run through the disparate healthcare organizations in the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan), or APEJ. 310 healthcare executives, divided evenly between private and public providers across the region, were interviewed in order to explore their sentiments and adoption plans for general and industry-specific IT solutions.
"While private providers play a significant role in bridging the resource shortage in most countries in the APEJ region, there are vast differences when it comes to IT spending, procurement, and investment patterns between the private and the public sectors," says Sash Mukherjee, research manager, IDC Health Insights, Asia/Pacific. "Public providers generally have more IT budgets, especially when it comes to infrastructure hardware, but the procurement processes tend to be more complicated involving longer negotiations and multiple stakeholders. On the other hand, private providers may have limited budgets and need solutions that are more focused on the business objectives. Provider organizations may be at vastly disparate maturity levels, depending on the country, as well as IT investments. The vendor community will do well to evaluate the individual organizations, before engaging with them."
