Butler Capital Partners Expands Capital Raising and Origination Team With Hire of Industry Veteran

NEW YORK, N.Y., Jan. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Butler Capital Partners ("Butler Capital"), a global capital placement and advisory firm focused on Alternative Investment Funds, announced today that Jeffrey C. Smith has joined the firm as Managing Director of Capital Placement and Hedge Fund Origination.

Jeffrey brings with him over 25 years of expertise in sales, marketing, and capital placement proficiency. Previously, from 2003 until 2014, he served as a Partner of S3 Partners, responsible for business development and client relationships management.  There, he was charged with originating and managing the ongoing relationships with over 100 hedge fund clients. While at S3, he created and maintained a strong network of institutional investor relationships, educating them on S3's counterparty management capabilities and introducing them to hedge funds. In addition, he also established a capital placement business to raise capital from European investors for emerging S3 hedge fund clients. 

Prior to S3 Partners, Jeffrey was Head of Latin American Equity Sales and Trading while working for Banco Garantia (Brazil)/Credit Suisse.  Preceding that, he was as an Institutional and High Net-Worth Salesman in the Shafiroff Group at Lehman Brothers and an Investment Officer and Equity Research Analyst at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.
