NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Butler, Snow, O'Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC, has expanded the firm's Nashville office as 37 attorneys join the firm, bringing the total number of attorneys in Tennessee to almost 100.
With this expansion, Butler Snow becomes one of the largest firms in the state and among the largest in the country, with more than 220 attorneys practicing in 12 offices nationwide. The firm was recently ranked by The National Law Journal 250 – an annual survey of the country's largest law firms.
"These attorneys certainly had the choice to collectively or individually join many different firms. Founded in 1954, Butler Snow offers a full range of business and litigation services across a variety of legal practices. The firm is also known for a strong government relations practice which includes former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour. This practice will be strengthened even further as former Tennessee Congressman John Tanner joins as part of this group. With these additions, the firm adds increased depth and breadth across many legal practice areas, further benefitting local, regional and national clients. Butler Snow is also recognized as a leader in providing value solutions for major corporate clients, including extensive flat fee and shared-risk pricing solutions.
The firm has been recognized consistently as one of the top law firms in the country. The National Law Journal named Butler Snow to its Midsize Hot List, and Butler Snow was recently ranked as one of America's Top 100 law firms in the BTI Power Rankings.
"We are very excited to join Butler Snow and believe this is a great opportunity for our team, for Butler Snow and most importantly, for our clients. The firm's culture, commitment to teamwork and focus on client service are all significant principles that we share," said Dan H. Elrod, a leading member of the Nashville team joining Butler Snow. Elrod was recently elected to Butler Snow's Executive Committee which establishes firm governance, policy and strategic direction.
Butler Snow's new Nashville office is located downtown at 1200 One Nashville Place, 150 Fourth Avenue N.
"Our entire team is looking forward to new and exciting opportunities as Butler Snow continues its strategic vision of growth," said Melvin J. Malone, another leading member of the Nashville team.
