Buyers Edge Platform Names Sam Peterson Chief Technology Officer to Accelerate AI-Driven Innovation
WALTHAM, Mass., Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Buyers Edge Platform (BEP), a leading digital procurement network and solutions provider for the foodservice industry, today announced the appointment of Sam Peterson as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). As BEP continues to scale its platform and expand its portfolio of solutions, technology remains central to how the company serves customers. In his new role, Peterson will lead BEP's technology and engineering organization, AI-enabled product innovation, and faster, more efficient delivery of solutions to market.
Peterson has built a career adopting leading-edge technology, building high-performing engineering organizations, and delivering results materially faster at lower cost, with experience spanning public companies, private equity-backed businesses, and international teams.
Most recently, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Renaissance Inc., a philanthropic-services fintech, where he rebuilt engineering around AI-first delivery, and established an AI Governance Council to ensure responsible adoption at scale. Previously, he held executive technology and product leadership roles at Truckstop, Metrc, and Boats Group, where he led the platform consolidation and international acquisition integration that supported the company's successful exit. Earlier in his career, he spent 14 years at Overstock.com, rising from its first software developer to Senior Vice President and CTO of a 650-person technology, product, and program organization.
