Calais Campbell to Film Toy Drive PSA and Sign Autographs at Ahwatukee RoomStore Location

AHWATUKEE, Ariz., Nov. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, November 19, 2013, Arizona Cardinals Defensive End #93 Calais Campbell will be at the Ahwatukee RoomStore filming a Toy Drive Public Service Announcement spot to benefit Arizonans for Children.  Campbell will also be participating in a meet and greet and autograph signing session after the completion of the PSA.  Campbell was selected 50th overall in the 2nd round of the 2008 draft by the Arizona Cardinals, and has led the team in sacks from 2009 to 2011, achieving a career high 8 sacks in 2011, 6 sacks in 2010 and 7 sacks in 2009.  He was also named the Arizona Cardinals/Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in 2011, due to his remarkable on field performance and his commitment to community service.  Fans can bring their own memorabilia and items for Campbell to sign, and Autograph Picture cards will also be available.  Arizona Cardinals mascot Big Red and the Arizona Cardinal cheerleaders will also be joining the festivities.

Arizonians for Children is a non-profit that exists to facilitate opportunities and improve the lives of abused and neglected children in foster care.  They provide three home-like visitation spaces to the increasing number of children in state custody, their families, and child care providers.  They also supply: toys, clothing, luggage, a tutor/mentor program, educational classes, and admissions to special events. 

Since Arizonans for Children's inception in 2003, the RoomStore has furnished all three facilities with furniture, lamps, pictures, silk plants, and various other fixtures.  It has been necessary to relocate two of the facilities, and both times, the RoomStore packed and moved them to the new location, and donated new furniture.  In 2007, the RoomStore, also began providing warehouse space to wrap 4,000 Christmas presents for the Arizonans for Children Holiday party, and transports the presents to the Holiday party location, and returns the remaining presents to the storage facility.  The RoomStore has also provided space in its Mesa Store to set up the Arizonians for Children's Life book program, which is still being used today.  The RoomStore also donates raffle prizes for fundraisers, including 60" televisions, and living room sets.

The RoomStore and Campbell are doing their part to enrich and advance the lives of foster children statewide.  Don't forget to bring toys to donate to the drive!
