Then sign up for California's free daily e-mail newsletter, "The Daily Bright Spot."
Published by Californians for Clean Energy and Jobs (CCEJ), the daily e-newsletter highlights nearly one dozen of the most significant clean energy developments in the state. The focus is on job-creating projects and policies that are making California the nation's clean energy leader. For example, recent editions have featured news about a one megawatt solar project underway at the University of San Diego, passage of legislation in the State Assembly to promote algae as a clean energy fuel, and a new report showing that California continues to lead the nation in venture capital for clean energy projects.
"With turmoil and upheaval in the Middle East and with forces in Washington bent on turning back the energy clock, never has there been a more urgent need for California to provide leadership to the world on clean energy policies and technology -- especially as it relates to job creation and national security," says San Francisco businessman/philanthropist Tom Steyer, co-chair of CCEJ. "We are highlighting one of the few bright spots in California's sluggish economy: the clean tech sector. Our e-newsletter and website are chock full of good news about the state's leadership in clean tech and shows how vital it is for the Brown Administration and California Air Resources Board (ARB) to continue adopting effective standards to implement AB 32, our state's roadmap to a clean energy future, as well as other landmark policies."
The website, www.CaBrightSpot.com features a compilation of clean energy news, along with videos and links to other resources on clean energy jobs. The website also features a daily update of California clean tech news, studies on state policies that foster job-creation, organizations and clean tech companies, and other materials.
"The Daily Bright Spot", http://www.CaBrightSpot.com/#newsletter, a free e-newsletter that site users can sign up for online, provides a round-up of daily news stories on the clean tech industry in California.
CaBrightSpot.com is a project of CCEJ, a nonpartisan coalition of business, health, environmental, labor, and community groups originally formed to oppose Prop 23, the dirty energy ballot measure that was defeated by a lopsided margin last November. CCEJ is co-chaired by Steyer and former Secretary of State George Shultz. The Daily Bright Spot is also supported by the California Business Alliance for a Green Economy, which supports the implementation of California's clean energy policies, including AB 32, by ARB and other public agencies.
