VISALIA, Calif., April 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- California DUI attorney Christopher Martens is the author of a new eBook -- California DUI Law and Defenses: Survival Guide to Getting a DUI -- that is now available on Amazon.
The 51-page eBook is an informational guide on California DUI law and defenses to DUI in California. It provides an overview of the court process and what those charged with a DUI can do to protect themselves and minimize the legal damage.
Martens said that most people charged with a DUI in California have had little or no interaction with the criminal justice system. They are unaware of their rights and are intimidated by the legal process.
"I wrote this book because when you get a DUI, you have 100 questions and don't know what the process is," said Martens. "It is easy to understand, so those charged with a DUI can know what they face and get some peace of mind about dealing with the legal process."
The Survival Guide to Getting a DUI includes chapters on understanding DUI police observations; field sobriety tests; breath, blood and urine tests; vehicle impoundment; DUI defenses; court procedure; renewing/restoring a driver's license after a DUI; why you need to hire a DUI attorney and how to choose one.
"A DUI conviction carries serious consequences, including possible jail time, hefty fines, the loss of your driver's license and a permanent criminal record," said Martens. "Being informed about the legal process and having an experienced DUI attorney on your side can make a huge difference in the outcome of your case."
Martens has practiced criminal defense law in California for more than a decade and has handled thousands of cases in Fresno, Tulare and Kings Counties. He is a graduate of Oak Brook College of Law and a member of the California State Bar. The Law Offices of Christopher Martens is located in Visalia and Hanford, California.
