Calistoga readies for sixth Winter in the Wineries Passport Series
CALISTOGA, Calif., Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Calistoga Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau has announced that its sixth Winter in the Wineries Passport Series will begin Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, and run through Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016. Passports are now available for purchase at VisitCalistoga.com or by calling 707-942-6333. The passport price of $50 includes wine-tastings at 15 Calistoga boutique and well-known wineries and discounts on lodging and shopping at the top of Napa Valley. Winter in the Wineries Passport Series is valued at an estimated $300 and considered the best value of tasting in Napa Valley.
Participating wineries include Chateau Montelena, featured in the 2008 Hollywood film, "Bottle Shock." Another well-known stop to take on the trail is Sterling Vineyards, where guests can take a tram ride to taste and take in breathtaking views, while a wine tasting at Castello di Amorosa, the authentically-styled 13th-century Tuscan castle, will entice aficionados eager to taste wines rated 90-plus points in Wine Enthusiast magazine. Passport holders are encouraged to share their Winter in the Wineries experiences on social media using the hashtag: #TastesFromTheTop
Along with access to 15 wine tastings any time during the two-month period of Dec. 5 through Feb. 7, passport holders will receive special restaurant offers and discounts at several of Calistoga's lodging properties and downtown shops.
Also, through Dec. 2, individuals can enter at VisitCalistoga.com to win two Passports, a two-night stay at Brannan Cottage Inn, a V.I.P. Tasting/Tour at Twomey Calistoga and a special Winter in the Wineries dinner for two at Brannan's Grill. The winner will be announced on Dec. 3 via the VisitCalistoga.com website.
"Winter in the Wineries Passport program is a great way for participants to experience both Napa Valley varietals and Calistoga offerings," said Chris Canning, executive director of the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center. "We are excited to welcome another year of the passport series. It's a great way for visitors to leisurely explore and sip through the city over the two-month period."
Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of Calistoga's Winter in the Wineries Passport Series to experience the intimate nature of this charming community. Many participating wineries ask passport holders to make reservations to ensure the ultimate guest experience.
