CamelOne Brings Integration and Messaging Experts to Boston
Numerous well-known experts will present interactive sessions on technology best practices and enterprise success stories at CamelOne 2012, May 15-16
BEDFORD, Mass., April 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- FuseSource Corp., leaders in open source integration and messaging, today announced some of the many celebrated experts and enterprises that will share success stories and best practices at CamelOne – the only event designed for enterprise users of open source integration and messaging. CamelOne 2012 will be held in Boston, Massachusetts from May 15-16, 2012 at the Sheraton Boston Hotel.
CamelOne provides software developers, architects and information technology professionals with an opportunity to learn from the experts who founded popular open source integration and messaging projects, including Apache Software Foundation projects Apache ServiceMix, ActiveMQ, Camel, and CXF; and veterans of successful enterprise deployments within many of the world's most successful private and public-sector organizations. This year's event will include more than 25 information-packed sessions.
"There isn't a more valuable event than CamelOne for enterprise IT professionals who want to learn how the world's best-known companies and organizations are solving real-world business challenges with open source integration and messaging technologies that deliver unprecedented flexibility and cost savings," said Rob Davies, CTO of FuseSource and co-founder of Apache Software Foundation projects Apache ServiceMix, ActiveMQ and Camel. "Whether you are in the midst of an integration project or considering one, the presenters and fellow attendees at CamelOne are sure to offer insights you can't gain anywhere else."
In addition to sharing best practices and success stories, sessions at CamelOne will also provide attendees with an opportunity to learn about new features and functionality being developed in Apache Software Foundation integration and messaging projects, as well as FuseSource™ enterprise-class products and services. Some of the many notable presenters at CamelOne 2012 include:
- George Atala, enterprise software architect at the University of California, Berkeley: Atala will present "A Hundred Departments, Same Integration Solution." Attendees will learn how open source integration and a service-oriented architecture fit into the university's overall enterprise plans and made it possible for numerous departments, all with their own local systems of record, to connect hybrid systems, gain greater life out of existing legacy investments, lower costs and even enable the campus to offer new services.
- Rob Davies: Davies will present "Deploying Apache ActiveMQ for Big Data Ingestion," a session that will explore advanced topologies for using ActiveMQ in massively scalable environments and address the singular data ingestion challenge that plagues many enterprises in their efforts to run analytics on massive amounts of information. He will also share best practices for implementing and deploying the load-balanced and exceptionally durable subscribers and brokers required to ensure continuous availability and the ability to instantaneously scale to changing data volumes.
- Claus Ibsen, principal software engineer at FuseSource, and co-author with FuseSource's John Anstey, of the well known reference book Camel in Action: Ibsen will provide attendees with an introduction to the popular integration framework and the enterprise integration patterns it supports in the session "Getting Started with Apache Camel."
- Keith Babo, SwitchYard Lead Developer in Red Hat's JBoss Middleware Business Unit: Babo will share with attendees how Apache Camel enables IT departments, particularly those in large distributed organizations, to deliver Integration capabilities quickly and effectively throughout the enterprise in the session "Integration as a Service with Apache Camel."
- David Reiser, Chief Engineer, Ram Raju, IT Architect, Shane Kent, Software Engineer from the U.S. Dept. of Transportation's Volpe Center: The team will present "Real-time weather tracking, Big Data, and Camel," a session in which they will describe how the Volpe Center, under the direction of Tony Colon, developed and deployed an application for the FAA's System Wide Information Management (SWIM) and Integrated Terminal Weather System (ITWS) programs, using open source software. David and team will discuss how open source software and Apache Camel enabled them to provide real-time weather updates in industry standard data format to users of the National Airspace System (NAS). They will also present a demonstration of an application that reflects the value of using open source software in public-sector deployments.
- Rob Terpilowski, lead Java Developer at Lynden, Inc.: Terpilowski will show how Lynden, an international multi-modal freight and logistics company headquartered in Alaska, architected, built and deployed a robust freight tracking system able to work effectively in remote areas where IT support is almost non-existent and WiFi connectivity is unreliable in the session "Building a Reliable Messaging System for an Unreliable and Diverse World."
- James Strachan, principal software engineer at FuseSource and co-founder of Apache Software Foundation projects ActiveMQ, Camel and ServiceMix and creator of the programming language Groovy; and Stanley Lewis, also a principal software engineer at FuseSource: Strachan and Lewis will show attendees how global, distributed organizations can achieve real-time connectivity in "Deploying and Managing Your Open Source Integration Infrastructure Across the Enterprise."
Two days of optional training will follow the conference. For an additional fee separate from the registration for CamelOne, attendees can enroll in two-day training courses, including Developer Training for Fuse ESB (based on Apache ActiveMQ and Apache Camel) and Developer Training for Fuse Message Broker (based on Apache ActiveMQ).
