Can You Pass This Fiscal IQ Quiz?

BRIDGEPORT, Conn., Dec. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Comeback America Initiative has developed a "Fiscal IQ Quiz" which anyone can take to test their understanding of our federal government's serious financial condition and bleak fiscal outlook. The quiz includes two types of questions: ones that test knowledge of fiscal facts (Fiscal Knowledge), and others that will gauge whether the test taker's views about potential solutions are realistic as compared to those of a number of objective federal budget experts (Fiscal Wisdom). 

After completing the five minute and 30-question quiz, participants are provided two scores (Fiscal Knowledge and Fiscal Wisdom) as well as an overall IQ score, which is the average of the Knowledge and Wisdom scores. For any questions they answer incorrectly, the test taker will receive information explaining why they were wrong. The Fiscal IQ Quiz can be found at www.fiscalIQ.net.

David M. Walker, Founder and CEO of the Comeback America Initiative and former Comptroller General of the United States, conceived the quiz as a way to engage the public on issues that must be addressed sooner rather than later. "Given the recent failure of the Congressional 'Supercommittee' on deficit reduction and the debt crises facing several European nations, it is more important than ever that all Americans, and their elected officials, be knowledgeable about the facts regarding our nation's financial condition and fiscal outlook," Walker said. "This is especially important given the upcoming Presidential and Congressional elections."

Walker and his organization believe that, once American voters fully understand the facts and the stakes, they will be able to pressure Congress to finally act. Walker is urging people to complete the quiz and then get their colleagues, friends and family to do the same. "Together, we can fix our country's finances and keep America great," Walker said.
