CancerIQ Deepens EHR Integrations to Identify and Guide More Patients Through Cancer Screening, Testing and Surveillance

A redesigned patient experience drives engagement from prevention through survivorship, while chart-aware risk intelligence surfaces guideline-based recommendations in EHR workflows

CHICAGO, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- CancerIQ, the precision health platform used by more than 60 health systems across 275 clinic locations, today announced two major updates to its Epic integrations that better support the full patient journey from prevention through survivorship. A redesigned patient experience and expanded provider application help health systems identify patients eligible for cancer screening and testing, engage them in recommended care and guide them through surveillance and follow-up over time.

The new provider experience uses embedded clinical guidelines to identify who is eligible for hereditary risk assessment, genetic testing and biomarker testing, along with the minimal residual disease (MRD) monitoring and multi-cancer early detection (MCED) programs a health system offers, without leaving established Epic workflows. CancerIQ then engages eligible patients directly and keeps those patients moving through testing, surveillance, and follow-up over time.

Built on the FHIR R4 standard, the updated provider integration expands the clinical data CancerIQ can draw directly from Epic and consolidates key workflows into a unified EHR experience. The chart-aware risk assessment incorporates information captured through check-in, intake, screening and genomics, allowing CancerIQ to prepopulate assessments with information the health system already has. Patients simply review, confirm or add missing details rather than re-entering their history.

CancerIQ users can import a wide set of information directly from the chart, including:

• Family cancer history
• Personal history and conditions
• Breast density and prior biopsies
• Genetic and other lab results
• Medication history

The updated provider integration also enables providers to complete core CancerIQ workflows without leaving Epic, including:

• Review and refine family history and pedigree data
• Review guideline-based screening and testing eligibility
• Initiate supported tests through existing ordering workflows
• Generate personalized, guideline-based care plans, including screening intervals, testing options, referrals and follow-up timing
• Review, upload, and download results and documents
• Surface recommended surveillance and follow-up, so the right next step is scheduled and tracked

Patients can securely connect through their patient portal and authorize CancerIQ to access supported information from their health record to pre-fill portions of their assessment, then review, confirm or add details before submitting. From there, CancerIQ helps patients understand their individual cancer risk, learn why a specific screening or diagnostic test may be relevant to them, review personalized options and recommended next steps, and stay engaged throughout testing, surveillance and follow-up.
