NEW YORK, March 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ito Partnership (www.ito-partners.com) announced today a merger with Candescent creative, a boutique design firm with offices and clients in New York and Toronto. Jason Briscoe, Candescent's founder and principal, will become a partner in Ito and take the shop's creative helm as Head of Design.
"Since our shops have been working closely on several clients for the last year, this feels a bit anticlimactic," said David Melancon, CEO of The Ito Partnership. "But by formally bringing Candescent together with Ito, we're showing our current and future clients how well our method of collaboration, strategy and design works to build their business; from thinking to execution to results, we are committed to seamless collaboration between all disciplines. We believe that's the best way to solve the kind of tough, defining problems our clients are facing in today's market."
The two shops have worked closely together over the last year, since Candescent joined Ito's working network, String Theory Collaborative (www.stringtheorycollaborative.com). Currently, there are 18 small and mid-size firms that are part of the String Theory Collaborative, with locations in 10 cities around the globe.
Since founding Candescent in 2007, Briscoe and his team have worked for a range of clients including Jaguar, Land Rover, TELUS Mobility, Paramount Pictures and Sony. The firm's work covers all aspects of brand design, with particular emphasis on digital and experiential work. Briscoe began his career at Taxi Toronto.
