Canon's Third Generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE Platform Expands Once Again with imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4500 Series

Building upon the success of this platform, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4500 Series of multifunction systems (MFPs), an information management platform for integrated and holistic business process solutions. Combining powerful scanning capabilities with advanced personalization and additional security features, the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4551i, 4545i, 4535i and 4525i models offer excellent document workflow systems for small to mid-size offices, departments within large enterprises and document-intensive industries that require efficient, cost-effective, monochrome printing, including legal, financial services, education and healthcare.

Designed to help businesses save time and improve productivity, these models offer a strong set of standard features, including a single pass duplex scanning document feeder (standard with imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4551i/4545i models, and optional for the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4535i/4525i models). This powerful feature delivers higher sheet capacity and scanning speeds more than nine times faster than predecessor models¹.

Workflow Efficiency
Meeting the expectations of the changing workforce, which has come to expect the customization of office technology, these third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE models include advanced personalization and can support third-party cloud services² using the optional ADVANCE Cloud Portal³. In addition, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4500 Series includes the enhanced standard security features found on third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE models, including Universal Login Manager (ULM), a serverless authentication solution that can allow businesses to provide customization without compromising control. Upon authentication at the device, the My ADVANCE solution interfaces with each individual's preferred functions and settings, while also helping control user access, meeting both the access control needs of the enterprise environment and the customization expectations of the individual. Customers in education institutions may find these helpful in providing secure, confusion free use to teachers, instructors and other users to enable them to more easily access and print the documents needed for the classroom and spend their time better focused on serving their students.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4500 Series also provides powerful new scanning capabilities that help decrease the time needed to complete the paper-to-digital journey, allowing resources to be efficiently shifted to other workplace priorities. Each model can support a variety of finishing options, including hole-punching, Staple-Free stapling, Staple on Demand and booklet-making. Combined with imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop, legal firms can more easily combine scanned images and other files to more effectively support eDiscovery and case management needs and meet court and client deadlines.

Cost Management 
Allowing organizations to help manage print and document costs by controlling employees' access and usage, advanced user authentication with Universal Login Manager comes standard on these models. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4500 Series can be connected to the optional uniFLOW and uniFLOW Online solution, a cloud-based print management solution for companies wanting more control and tracking of their printing.

Security Features
Helping to limit access to sensitive information, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4500 series features a set of standard security⁴ capabilities and can support optional capabilities. For example, these MFPs include a standard Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Encryption function with FIPS140-2 validation which, when activated, automatically encrypts data stored on the main unit's HDD, thereby helping to restrict access to the customer's data. These security features and other optional features help financial and healthcare customers protect client and patient information and help them meet ever growing privacy regulations.

Device and Fleet Management 
So that customers and channel partners can benefit from centralized control for day-to-day management, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4500 Series can be supported by Canon's imageWARE Enterprise Management Console⁵, its plug-ins and Canon's Managed Document Services⁶. These additional solutions and services, allow customers to easily deploy and manage device settings, user settings and security features across the fleet of imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunction systems.

With features designed to help reduce waste, and technology designed to provide low-energy consumption, which can help limit emissions, all third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE models are designed to help support customers' sustainability goals.
