MONTEREY, Calif., Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Capital Insurance Group® (CIG), the leading regional property and casualty insurer serving the Western U.S., announced that Radhakrishna "Rads" Mydam will assume the position of Vice President and Chief Information Officer, effective January 1. Mydam, reporting directly to CIG President and CEO, Peter Cazzolla, will oversee the implementation of IT applications and infrastructure as well as direct strategic technology planning for the company. He replaces former CIO David Todd, who retired in December.

Mydam's succession to this role follows several significant IT initiative rollouts for which he has carried managing responsibility. These initiatives include underwriting conversion to paperless and move to a virtual work environment, Producer VIEWS, BOP conversion to a new platform, mobile application for personal lines auto, and final selection of platforms for full conversion of all policy administration functions and a new billing system (development beginning in 2014).
With more than 23 years of experience in the technology industry, Mydam has held project leadership, software engineering, and consulting roles with various organizations, including SPM Instruments, IBM Global Services, John Hancock, the Robert H. School of Business, and the Norfolk & Dedham Insurance Group. Later, during his employment at Liberty Mutual, he was involved in the development and deployment of a number of significant projects covering loss control, financial management, policy administration, and customer engagement systems, as well as business applications. He received his undergraduate and graduate degree in Engineering while in India. He received his MBA in Private Equity and Venture Capital from the University of New Hampshire. He also holds the designation as a Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
