Owners of Foreign and Domestic Collector Cars Raise Money for Children through Passion for Cars

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Aug. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On September 18, the Capitol Concours Tour d'Elegance kicks off a full weekend of festivities aimed to raise money for Shriners Hospitals for Children®-Northern California. Concours sponsor Mercedes-Benz | Sacramento El Dorado Hills Rocklin will be the launch site for this spectacular event which will gather owners of all sorts of classic, vintage and exotic cars to rally along a designated route that meanders through many captivating areas of the Sacramento region. "Owners of all cars are invited to participate in this fun event, not just cars participating in the Sunday Concours," shares Alan Anderson, Director of Development for Shriners Hospitals for Children®-Northern California.

The Tour d'Elegance launches at 10:00AM where drivers will enjoy breakfast and concludes at 1:00PM with lunch at Mercedes-Benz Rocklin. A $25.00 car entry fee will go directly to the Shriners Hospitals for Children®-Northern California charity. "Expect to see an incredible selection of vehicles including numerous classic Thunderbirds -- our American feature and beautiful Ferrari and Alfa Romeo representing our Cars of Italy feature," said Anderson. All enthusiasts are encouraged enter a car and join the tour on Saturday, September 18 to help raise money for children in need of hospitalization and medical treatment.

Primary Concours weekend sponsors include: Mercedes-Benz of Sacramento, El Dorado Hills, Rocklin – members of the Von Housen Automotive Group, Snyder Leasing, Elk Grove Toyota, Roseville Auto Mall, CC Myers, Kniesel's Collision and SureWest Foundation.
