RICHMOND, Va., Jan. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Capitol Securities Management, Inc. is very pleased to announce the opening of its newest full service branch located in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The branch will be led by R. Marc McKoy and Angie C. King, both formerly of Merrill Lynch. Joining them in registered sales and customer support roles are Kevin Thompson and Kaitlyn Dolan.
"We are extremely excited to welcome such a wonderful group of individuals to the Capitol family. Their confidence in us further reinforces the attractiveness of our unique value proposition. At Capitol, successful advisors are able to get the best of both worlds; the people first environment of a regional firm combined with the world class products, services and security of a bank or wire house through its custody and clearing partner, Pershing, LLC.
"As we look forward, the opportunity to continue to welcome quality investment professionals that have been underappreciated, underpaid, and disenfranchised by their current firms is greater than ever."
G. Mark Hamby – President
The McKoy-King group brings to Capitol 50 plus years of combined investment experience, and over 100 million in customer assets with trailing twelve month revenues in excess of $1,000,000.
McKoy is a 1982 graduate of the University of South Carolina. He began his investment career in 1991 and has been consistently one of the leading advisors in the Wilmington area for the past 23 years. During this time, McKoy has worked for several of the major wire houses and bank brokerages including UVEST, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch. Marc actively supports charitable organizations, including the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society, as well as numerous other causes. He and his wife, Terry, have two daughters, Madison 18 and Brittney 16.
"We chose Capitol Securities for three main reasons: First, senior management knows the business is rep-centric, not firm-centric. Second, the partnership with BNY Pershing gives Capitol all the stability and offerings of a bank or wire house, without all of the bureaucratic baggage. And third, there is nothing like having access to management. At the wire house, you're nothing but a number. At Capitol, I can have Jay or Mark on the phone at a moment's notice.
"Capitol did a great job of preparing for the move, not only with forms, kits and other client-friendly materials, but also having staff from the Richmond home office on site to support the transition. We are now a little over two weeks into our transition and already have commitments from clients to transfer over 80 percent of the assets we were interested in moving. All in all, we are very pleased with the process and results," said McKoy.
King began her financial career in banking nearly 25 years ago, and has served as a dedicated Financial Advisor since 1999. King has worked at several of the national and regional firms including BB&T, Ferris, Baker Watts, Edward Jones and Merrill Lynch.Campbell University Marisa Clements
"I wanted to be a part of an organization that truly puts the client and Advisor first. A company that allows me to focus all of my time and energy on helping my clients with every aspect of their financial lives. I am excited to be a part of an organization that fosters and encourages professional and personal growth," said King.
The office is located at 1826 Sir Tyler Drive, Suite 200, Wilmington, NC. 910-239-9220.
