Carando® and Hannaford® Serve Up Holiday Cheer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine

LISLE, Ill., Dec. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Carando® Classic Italian Meats and Hannaford® delivered an extra helping of holiday cheer today in Portland, Maine. The two organizations provided the meal for the Big Brothers Big Sisters annual holiday party as a sign of gratitude for being a positive influence in the lives of young people. Over 100 kids, volunteers and staff of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine were treated to a feast of Carando premium hams, green beans, macaroni & cheese and pumpkin pie.

The celebration is part of an ongoing campaign named "Carando Cares," which focuses on helping local communities in the New England area. The campaign has included serving Christmas lunch to the city's firefighters in Springfield, Mass., providing an Easter dinner to the patients of the Shriners Hospital for Children-Boston and delivering hams to each of the city's fire stations in Boston.

Today's holiday party marks the second time "Carando Cares" has supported the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine. Carando, along with Hannaford, treated the group to a picnic lunch and minor league baseball game last summer.
