Carando® Serves Meal of Appreciation to Hometown Heroes

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., March 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The valiant men and women of the Springfield, Mass., police department were served a well-deserved Easter lunch this afternoon, courtesy of Carando® Classic Italian Meats. Over 200 of Springfield's finest were treated to a delicious spread of Carando premium dinner hams, green beans, oven roasted potatoes, mac & cheese and chocolate chip cookies as part of the "Carando Cares" initiative.

Since the founding over 75 years ago by Pietro Carando, Carando's office and production facility have been located in Springfield. The company has seen firsthand the countless efforts from the city's first responders to keep the community safe and planned the Easter lunch to show their gratitude to the brave men and women in blue.

Since it began in 2013, Carando has delivered hams to Boston's fire stations, served an Easter dinner to the children at Shriners Hospital for Children-Boston, treated the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine to a baseball game and served Christmas dinners to Springfield firefighters and Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, Mass.
