Carbon Law Group Expands Team Enhancing Corporate, Intellectual Property, and Tax Offering

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Carbon Law Group is pleased to announce that associates Hayk Mamajanyan and Raffi Avetisyan have joined the firm in its Los Angeles office.

Hayk's background is in commercial and finance transactions including corporate finance, project finance, corporate governance, venture capital, startup financing, franchise and other business matters.

Before joining Carbon Law Group, Hayk advised clients on cross-border deals and successfully represented large financial institutions in corporate and project financing investments for more than $500 million in the aggregate. He also served as an adjunct professor of law at the American University of Armenia, teaching corporate finance law courses.

Hayk received two graduate law degrees from UCLA School of Law and the University of Oxford (UK) after completing his JD equivalent from the American University of Armenia. He is licensed to practice law both in the State of California and the Republic of Armenia.

Raffi works with early-stage and emerging companies, on a variety of legal matters, including tax consulting and controversy, mergers and acquisitions, entity formations, and dispute resolutions. With his prior experience in tax, Raffi has a broad base of experience in assisting clients at different stages.

Before joining Carbon Law Group, Raffi worked in the public accounting industry. During his time there, Raffi handled a wide array of tax matters. His practice focused on tax planning matters, including international tax advisory and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and tax-efficient business structures. Raffi also advised clients on excess distribution calculations from Passive Foreign Investment Companies (PFIC) with market caps of more than $500 million. Raffi received his J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from Loyola Law School, and his undergraduate degree from California State University, Northridge.
