Carol A. Robles-Roman, Deputy Mayor for Legal Affairs and Counsel to the Mayor, To Speak at New York Minority Networking Attorney Event Co-Hosted by Fried Frank

NEW YORK, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Carol A. Robles-Roman, Deputy Mayor for Legal Affairs and Counsel to New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, will be the featured speaker at the New York Minority Attorney Networking Series on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. The event will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the New York City Bar Association, located at 42 West 44th Street. The ongoing series is organized by Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP and Arnold & Porter LLP. Carol A. Robles-Roman is the Deputy Mayor for Legal Affairs and Counsel to Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, where she leads reform efforts that improve public access to justice and city services.  She oversees several city agencies and advises the Mayor and the executive branch on legal policy issues including judicial selection, compliance and enforcement of anti-discrimination laws, disability and access laws, domestic violence and immigration.  A practicing attorney throughout her career, Deputy Mayor Carol Robles-Roman has served as counsel to senior executives, judges, and public officials.

The event will also honor the late Michael Oshima, former chair of the NYCBA Committee on Minorities in the Profession, and the winners of the diversity essay contest bearing his name.
