For the second year running, comparator will donate £1 for every booking made on 1st November 2012 to help support homeless charities across the UK
Carrentals.co.uk has announced its upcoming 'Book & Donate' days, which will take place over November, December and January. On Thursday 1st November, the car hire comparator will make a donation of £1 for every booking made on its site to StreetSmart, an organisation that raises vital funds for over 100 homeless charities in 19 cities across the UK.
Gareth Robinson, Managing Director of Carrentals.co.uk, says: "During the last 'Book and Donate' campaign, we raised over £5,500 for StreetSmart, a fantastic organisation that helps so many homeless charities get people off the streets and back on their feet again. We hope to do even better this year, helping StreetSmart to support more charities across the country. Launched in 1998, StreetSmart has raised and distributed over £5.5 million to a range of causes, including education and training initiatives, supported housing and health projects. Since its launch, it has picked up a number of high-profile supporters including Stephen Fry, Neil Morrissey and Richard Bacon.
StreetSmart runs its main campaign every November and December, with well-known restaurants across the UK, including Nobu, The Groucho Club and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, opting to add a voluntary £1 donation to the bottom of each table bill. All of the donations are then passed on to StreetSmart, with StreetSmart distributing the funds nationally across its charity projects.
"StreetSmart works with a number of charities across the UK, which means the money we donate will benefit homeless people in many different areas," Gareth added, "Following on from the success of last year's 'Book and Donate' days, we are arranging several more dates over the next three months, with the next day planned for 26th November. For any booking made on each 'Book and Donate' day, we will donate an additional £1, which means it won't cost our customers a thing to help raise funds."
