The Singapore Green Building Council was established during the International Green Building Conference on October 28-30, 2009. Its founding members consist of a cross section of participants in Singapore's construction industry.

The leaf represents the universal symbol for the environment, with a unique design created exclusively for Carrier. A new marketing icon was also introduced with the word "improve" and "building," using the same leaf element as the brand identity.
