Carulas Appointed New AGN International Chair

CLEVELAND, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- James P. Carulas, CPA, Chief Executive Officer of Meaden & Moore, has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of AGN International, a worldwide association of separate and independent accounting and consulting firms serving business organizations throughout the world.

AGN International is an association of almost 200 independent accounting firms with offices in 90 countries around the world, concentrated in five major regions: North America, South America, Europe, West Asia and Africa, and Asia Pacific.  Mr. Carulas will be responsible for leading the nine-member international board for a two-year term. He will oversee the organization's mission to provide the highest level of information and professional services worldwide for member firms and their clients worldwide.

Mr. Carulas, previously Vice-Chair of AGN International, is the CEO of Meaden & Moore LLP, a Northeast Ohio based accounting and consulting firm. Mr. Carulas has been with the firm for more than 25 years, advising entrepreneurial clients on various financial and business issues. Much of his experience has been with working with the owners and management of growth-oriented companies.

Mr. Carulas has been with the firm since 1984 and was promoted to Vice President in 1994.  In 2001, he became President of two of the Firm's business units: Meaden & Moore Ltd. and Meaden & Moore Business Solutions.  In 2006, Mr. Carulas was elected President and CEO of the Firm.

He is a graduate of Miami University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration with majors in accounting and organizational administration and a minor in political science.

Mr. Carulas is also part of several professional and business organizations such as the American Institute of CPAs; Ohio Society of CPAs; Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors – founding member and past board of advisors; member of Vistage International; Association for Corporate Growth; Ohio Venture Association; board of directors and advisors of several private companies; Board of Directors Ohio Federation of Independent Colleges; Miami University Alumni Association; Shaker Historical Society.
