CashCall employees raise record $102,000 in holiday charity drive

ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CashCall, Inc., an Anaheim-based mortgage and consumer finance lender raised $102,396 for charities in three states through its annual holiday fundraiser.  Half of the funds were contributed by CashCall employees, while the company provided a matching contribution.  

The vast majority of the money raised, $93,156, was donated to Mary's Kitchen, an all-volunteer organization that provides food and other services to the homeless of Orange County, California.  The services provided by Mary's Kitchen include hot meals, snacks and packed lunches as well as morning showers and clothing hand outs.  All of the funds received by Mary's Kitchen go directly toward the services it provides to its clients. 

CashCall employees in Las Vegas raised $6,900 that was donated to the St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility of Las Vegas, which feeds nutritious meals to homeless and needy men, women, and children every day of the year, in a clean and safe environment.

Further, employees at CashCall's newest facility outside Dallas raised $2,339.98 for the North Texas Food Bank.

This marks the fifth year of CashCall's holiday fundraiser. CashCall once again agreed to match all donations made by employees during these events.  "I have always thought of Christmas and the Holidays as an opportunity to give back to the community.  I am proud that so many CashCall employees were involved to make this a huge success," said J. Paul Reddam, CEO and President of CashCall.

Louis Ochoa, the company's vice president of loan servicing, who once again spearheaded the fundraising effort, said he was thrilled with the amount raised this year.  "I am so proud of our employees. We thought we did a great job last year, but we more than doubled last year's total this year.  We have set a high bar for 2013."

CashCall last year raised $46,661.21 for Mary's Kitchen and an additional $2,801.21 for various Catholic Charities in Las Vegas, NV. 

Ochoa also thanked Reddam for agreeing to match the amount raised by the employees.  "Paul's generosity was incredible," he said.  

CashCall, Inc.'s Holiday Fund Raiser encompassed many activities such as silent auctions, sales of holiday decorations, raffles and "pie in the face" pie throwing contest for charity.  This year, the company also added a no-limit poker tournament, which attracted more than 100 players and raised $9,700 for charity.
