Catalyst IT Services Brings On Scott Harris to Lead Client Engagement
C-level Operational Skills Support Rapid Growth in Onshore Agile Development Services
BALTIMORE, Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Catalyst IT Services recently announced that Scott Harris has joined the firm as executive vice president. In this role, Harris will take the lead in client relationship management, sales and marketing to help Baltimore-based Catalyst capitalize on the growing demand for onshore agile development services.
Catalyst IT Services provides onshore agile application services working with clients onsite or from development centers in Baltimore, Md. and Portland, Ore. Using a unique Moneyball-style approach to hire talent and assemble client teams, Catalyst IT Services focuses on rigorous statistical analysis over subjective and inaccurate predictors of success.
Harris will lead the organization's efforts in building and strengthening relationships with the company's US clients and partners. In taking responsibility for all externally facing functions at Catalyst, Harris will also evangelize the company's use of big data to increase the productivity and effectiveness of agile development for large enterprises and innovative midsize organizations and technology firms. As a member of the executive team, Harris reports to CEO Michael Rosenbaum and brings his expertise successfully building and growing technology services companies like Catalyst.
"Scott brings extensive operational and enterprise client management experience to his new role, and I am confident that he will contribute strongly to the continued steady growth that Catalyst IT Services is experiencing," said Michael Rosenbaum, CEO, Catalyst IT Services.
Catalyst uses big data and mathematical modeling to identify high performers objectively. Earlier this year Catalyst was one of just five services firms to earn a "Cool Vendor" designation from leading IT research and advisory firm Gartner Inc. in its 'Cool Vendors in Application Services, 2013' report.
Harris previously led a range of technology organizations before joining Catalyst IT Services in May. Most recently, Harris served as Chief Operating Officer of Talascend, a $200 million organization in the technology and engineering space, where he drove business growth and oversaw the company's expansion into software products. Prior to joining Talascend, Harris served as Chief Operating Officer of AVIcode, Inc., a leading product in application monitoring that was acquired by Microsoft.
"As a leader in the innovative use of big data and enabling innovation through onshoring agile application services, Catalyst is unmatched in the industry. I look forward to furthering Catalyst's commitment to helping its clients innovate and deliver in ways previously unimaginable, and to making Catalyst the dominant player in the area of transformative application services," Harris said.
Harris began his career at IBM as a systems engineer, and then spent eight years in positions of increasing responsibility in the sales and channel areas. He is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and has a B.S. in computer science, business, and mathematics from Tulane.
