Cats Against Clay Chooses Feline Pine

CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Feline Pine All-Natural Cat Litter has been named the litter of choice by the discerning Cats Against Clay (C.A.C.) group. For months C.A.C., a stealth Feline Rights organization fighting for litter box reform, has blanketed the world with its message: No More Clay Litter.  Today, the rebel cats answered the question their followers have been asking: If not clay, then what?

Feline Pine is made from pine reclaimed from lumber production and is dust, chemical and perfume free. On its Web site, C.A.C. explains its reasons for the movement and for endorsing Feline Pine. "Clay litter doesn't taste good, has harsh chemicals, is dusty on our fur and is unnecessary because of a better alternative." That alternative is Feline Pine.

Since March, C.A.C. has conducted an aggressive campaign to promote its cause. The blitz includes billboards in New York, Chicago and San Francisco and sidewalk graffiti in major markets. Catsagainstclay.org has exploded in popularity and the C.A.C. Facebook page has more than 17,000 "likes."

In May, an anti-clay rally in Berkeley, CA caught the attention of legions of supporters, and a full-page advertisement in the New York Times on April 22 announced the group's pledge to fight litter box injustice. An ad today in the same publication declares in no uncertain terms, "Cats Everywhere Mandate That our Litter Must Change."

Daniel Henderson, Feline Pine brand manager, says the company is thrilled to be C.A.C.'s choice. "We wholeheartedly agree with C.A.C.'s message and are happy to be part of this campaign to raise awareness that there are alternatives to clay litter."  

"We don't necessarily condone the shredding of toilet paper rolls or similar behavior to get the anti-clay point across," Henderson continued. "But we hope to help C.A.C. spread its message in less destructive ways."
