Catylist Celebrates 10 Years of Empowering Commercial Real Estate Communities
The Nation's Leading Provider of Commercial Information Exchange Technology
CHICAGO, March 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- 2012 marks Catylist's 10th year of providing Web-based technology for the commercial real estate industry. Their flagship product, the Commercial Information Exchange (CIE), analogous to the popular MLS used by residential real estate agents, is designed specifically for commercial professionals that represent office, retail and industrial properties.
Catylist launched their first Commercial Information Exchange for the Florida Gulfcoast Commercial Association of REALTORS (FGCAR) in 2002. At the time, many commercial agents were leery of sharing listing information within their own company, let alone with competitors. Fortunately, to everyone's benefit, much has changed. Almost a decade later, the FGCAR CIE is home to 4,500 available properties represented by nearly 450 professionals in the Tampa Bay area, and continues to grow each year.
According to Lois Kostroski, Executive VP Florida Gulfcoast Commercial Association of REALTORS®, "FGCAR was there at the beginning -- and it has been a good partnership: a receptive partnership, an innovative partnership, and one that will last because both parties respect and listen to each other. For both our sakes, we wish Catylist many more decades of good service to commercial real estate."
There are now over 30 Catylist CIEs and Commercial MLSs in use, making Catylist the #1 provider in the country. Unlike national listing services, each CIE is independently managed at the local or state level. CIEs are designed to meet the needs of the various local markets they serve, bringing real estate communities together to share information. Each community controls the rules, pricing, and available features while maintaining ownership of the information they contribute.
"We started Catylist with a vision to partner with clients placing their trust in our service. Ten years later much has changed, but our vision has not," says Richard Maxson, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Catylist. "We are grateful and proud for the opportunity to serve our client partners and look forward to doing so for many years to come."
