'CauseWorthy,' Unique Social Giving Platform, Launches to Connect Individuals & Corporate Donors with Charitable Projects Around the World
Users May Donate Skills, Resources or Funds Directly to Verified Start-to-Finish Projects; CauseWorthy Also Provides Real-Time, Shareable Project Updates
RALEIGH, N.C., June 9, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- CauseWorthy, an innovative new social giving platform, is launching today to provide a new way for individuals and corporate sponsors to support and celebrate charitable work around the world. The new site features thoroughly vetted, start-to-finish charitable projects in the U.S. and abroad, and allows users to donate their time and talents, resources, or funding. CauseWorthy also provides real-time, sharable updates as each project progresses so that supporters can see the good they helped create and share it with their social networks.
"CauseWorthy is filling a void in the way we support the organizations creating meaningful change around the world," said Emily Harris, co-founder of CauseWorthy and a former aide worker. "Many people choose not to give because they are afraid of being scammed, rarely know where their donations are going and seldom receive any feedback. Our goal with CauseWorthy is to bring more transparency to the online giving process by creating place a where like-minded world-changers can give resources directly to verified projects and then watch as each project moves forward to completion."
"CauseWorthy is an online community connecting users not only with projects they are passionate about, but also with one another," said Paul George, co-founder of CauseWorthy and business technology entrepreneur. "If you want to end human trafficking, whether it be in Thailand or New York City, CauseWorthy can connect you with an existing project and with other CauseWorthy users who are already on board. Each CauseWorthy user contributes whatever they are able to give, and together, the CauseWorthy community makes a big difference that they can both see and celebrate."
While all funds donated by individuals go directly to the users' chosen projects, CauseWorthy is about more than just monetary funding. Users can volunteer resources, time and expertise based on what a particular project needs, such as graphic design for a logo, legal advice, or lumber to build a new school house.
The platform also provides an avenue for companies to give back by sponsoring a project that compliments their industry. For example, a grocery chain may sponsor a hunger relief project, or a publishing company may sponsor a library for a school.
The following projects are currently active on CauseWorthy, and more will be added in the coming weeks:
