CBOE Holdings Reports January 2015 Trading Volume
- ADV of 5.4 Million Contacts Up 5% Over December
- CBOE, C2 and CFE ADV Increase From Previous Month
- Total Volume of 107.2 Million Contracts Traded
CHICAGO, Feb. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CBOE Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBOE) reported today that average daily volume (ADV) during January for options contracts on Chicago Board Options Exchange® (CBOE®) and C2 Options ExchangeSM (C2SM) and futures contracts on CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE®) was 5.4 million contracts, an increase of five percent from December 2014 and a decrease of seven percent from January 2014. Monthly ADV at CBOE, C2 and CFE each posted increases over December.
Total options and futures volume at CBOE Holdings during January was 107.2 million contracts, a decrease of five percent from the previous month and a decrease of 12 percent from a year ago.

CBOE Trading Volume and Market Share
CBOE Volume: January
- CBOE's ADV during the month was 4.8 million contracts, up five percent from December and down nine percent from January 2014. Exchange-wide trading volume totaled 95.5 million contracts, down five percent from the previous month and down 14 percent from a year ago.
- During the month, ADV in exchange traded product (ETP) options increased 14 percent from a year ago, while ADV in index options and equity options decreased 12 percent and 19 percent, respectively, from January 2014.

C2 Volume: January
- C2's ADV during the month was 357,500 contracts, up 12 percent from December and up 15 percent from January 2014. Exchange-wide trading volume totaled 7.2 million contracts, an increase of two percent from the previous month and an increase of nine percent from a year ago.
- During the month, ADV in equity options increased 130 percent from a year ago, while ADV in ETP options decreased three percent from January 2014.

CFE Volume: January
- CFE's ADV during the month was 228,683 contracts, up nine percent from January 2014 and up one percent from December. Exchange-wide trading volume totaled 4.6 million contracts, an increase of four percent from a year ago and a decrease of eight percent from the previous month.
- ADV in futures on the CBOE Volatility Index® (VIX® Index) during the month was 228,436 contracts, up nine percent from January 2014 and up one percent from December. VIX futures volume totaled 4.6 million contracts in January, an increase of four percent from a year ago and a decrease of eight percent from the previous month.
CBOE Holdings Average Revenue Per Contract
The company will report its average revenue per contract for the three months ended December 31, 2014, in conjunction with its quarterly earnings news release, which will be issued on Friday, February 6, 2015.
