Celebrate Halloween with the Sony Wonder Technology Lab at Its Annual 'Wonderween' Event

NEW YORK, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Against a backdrop of cackling witches and ghostly goblins and ghouls, the Sony Wonder Technology Lab will be hosting Halloween festivities once again this year, welcoming children of all ages to its annual "Wonderween" event.  This year, families will be able to enjoy two full days of haunting fun, with activities scheduled for Saturday, October 30, and Sunday, October 31, from 12 to 4 p.m. Guests are encouraged to come in costume.

"We are excited to host another fun-filled Wonderween," said Karen Kelso, Executive Director of the Sony Wonder Technology Lab.  "It is a great opportunity for our visitors to get into the spirit of Halloween and enjoy the many special activities and screenings we have to offer."

Throughout the two-day event, children will be able to participate in special Halloween activities, including Bat Flyer Making workshops and Halloween-themed screenings in the Lab's High Definition Theatre. Among the films to be shown are selections from the Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go! series and "Sesame Street: Elmo Says Boo!" Screenings will take place every hour on the half hour, and tickets will be distributed to guests 30 minutes prior to each screening. Space is limited, so plan to arrive early at the HD Theatre door.  

On Saturday, October 30, visitors will also be able to participate in Face Painting, while Sunday's festivities will feature a SnapLab Photo station, where visitors can have their photo taken to serve as a memento of their Wonderween experience.

While at the Lab, visitors are also encouraged to explore its four floors of interactive, hands-on exhibits, including the WSWL Production Studio, in which visitors work together to produce a high-definition news broadcast; the Dance Motion Capture experience, which allows visitors to see their very own dance moves performed by Sony-animated characters in real time; and Game Builder, where children can build and play their own video racing game.  

Tickets for Wonderween will be available on a first come, first served basis at the main entrance to the Lab beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday.  Admission is FREE. At the end of each day, children will receive gift bags filled with treats to take home.
