ROCHESTER, Mich., March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Celtic Oil today announced their selection of Michigan-based technology firm EOS Solutions to provide critical 3D and 4D technology for the TOSCA consortium. TOSCA (Total Operations Management for Safety Critical Activities) is a European Commission funded research project comprised of private enterprise and universities. The goal of the TOSCA research project is to create a commercially viable operations management system for small and medium size European business for which operational safety and security are paramount. Other TOSCA project partners include Celtic Oil, ABB, Trinity College Dublin, University of Bologna, Technical University of Crete, Politecnico di Torino, and the European Association of Craft, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.
For Joe Dunne, Managing Director of Celtic Oil, the decision to work with EOS Solutions was an easy one, "We found an opportunity to add a revolutionary technology, 4D Simulation, to our work within oil and gas industries. Our choice of EOS Solutions as a partner was immediately justified with our inclusion in the prestigious EU project, TOSCA. Additionally, we already see many other industries and applications as targets for this disruptive technology." "We appreciate the vote of confidence very much, and see TOSCA as a great opportunity to break our disruptive 3D and 4D technology to new markets in Europe while at the same time contributing to a world-class research group," added Steven Prast, Managing Director of EOS Solutions.
The TOSCA research project will run a total of 36 months and involve companies and universities from across Europe. Funded through the European Commission's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), the TOSCA research project like all other FP7 funded projects seeks to advance the industry knowledge and tools available to assist European Union businesses and industries.
