CHICAGO, July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Business executives from the Chicagoland area and across the nation will descend on the famed Palmer House Hilton on July 12th for a super-charged symposium hosted by national non-profit Center for Companies That Care (www.companies-that-care.org/recognition/annual-conference).

This event will focus on the super heroes and super strategies necessary for running a socially responsible company. The event features keynote speaker Thomas Walter, CEO of Tasty Catering, and a 10th anniversary celebration of Center for Companies That Care Honor Roll. This year's symposium will begin with registration at 7 a.m., the actual event beginning at 8 a.m., and followed by an optional lunch at 12:30 p.m.  See: www.companies-that-care.org/symposium2012 for full agenda.

Walter, CEO of Tasty Catering and co-author of the soon to be released book, It's My Company Too! How Entangled Companies Move Beyond Employee Engagement for Remarkable Results, will discuss "Steps to Creating a Successful Workplace that Treasures Human Capital and the Community." Marci Koblenz, President of Center for Companies That Care, will also join Walter as part of an Executive Leadership Forum.

Additionally there is a panel discussion on the "Value Proposition for Caring," where panelists from business, education, health and non-profit sectors will share their unique viewpoints about the strategic importance of social responsibility, as well as a power networking session.

"It is so important for business professionals to discuss tactics and learn what works and what doesn't," emphasizes Koblenz. "That is how we all grow as businesses and sustain ourselves as a society.  Indeed, we can learn from each other."

Employers that have already integrated outstanding workplace practices and active community involvement will be recognized at the event as part of Center for Companies That Care's 10th Annual Honor Roll. These recipients demonstrate the 10 Characteristics that include appreciating employees, developing great leaders, and volunteerism, and will be recognized at the symposium.
