Central Floridians Challenged to Win Control of Weight Wellness

ORLANDO, Fla., June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- American Weight Wellness Association (AWWA) will debut their first annual Central Florida Community Weight Wellness Challenge on Aug. 1, 2012. The contest will engage Orlando and surrounding citizens to actively kick start their healthy lifestyle aspirations and work toward combating obesity.

All Central Florida residents within a 90-mile radius of Orlando are eligible to participate, and all non-chemically or -surgically induced weight-loss programs are fair game. Contestants will be responsible for signing up for the challenge between June 20 and Aug. 1 and completing an initial weigh-in, every two weeks thereafter, and final weigh-in on Oct. 31 in designated healthcare providers' offices to chronicle their weight-loss journeys over the 90-day period.

"The challenge epitomizes community involvement, a quest for healthful living, camaraderie between friends, loved ones, doctors, and organizations, and a chance for everyone to make new choices and rejoice in their hard-earned efforts to better themselves," said Dr. Daniel Pavlik, Sr., CEO of AWWA.

A grand-prize winner will receive a four-day Caribbean cruise, a three-night stay at Tradewinds Island Resort in Saint Petersburg, Fla., a new Guy Harvey wardrobe, exquisite meals at decadent steakhouse and seafood fine-dining establishments, limo rides, and much more. Second- and third-place winners will also receive impressive theme-park and hotel accommodations, meals, and gift cards.

The grand finale will be held on Nov. 5, 2012 at Pavlik Chiropractic Center, complete with a celebration to announce the lucky winners and to commemorate all participants' dedication and commitments to achieving their goals.
