The accreditation is nationally recognized as a sign of quality operations, making Waco's LRH-Central Texas Pathology Lab one of more than 7,700 CAP-accredited facilities worldwide.

During the process, inspectors examine the laboratory's records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years, as well as laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record, and overall management.
