CEOs Support Wyden-Coats "Bipartisan Tax Fairness and Simplification Act"
WASHINGTON, April 18, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The members of the American Business Conference (ABC), a Washington-based coalition of CEOs of fast-growing, midsize American companies, today announced their support for "The Bipartisan Tax Fairness and Simplification Act of 2011", co-sponsored by Senator Ron Wyden (D, OR) and Dan Coats, (R, IN). Commenting on the Senators' bill, John Endean, ABC's president said:
"ABC CEOs congratulate Senators Wyden and Coats for advancing much-needed comprehensive corporate and individual tax reform. We support them in this urgent undertaking.
"We believe that their "Bipartisan Tax Fairness and Simplification Act" provides a fully-articulated framework for a tax system that promotes economic growth and job creation, meets the nation's revenue needs, promotes the ability of Americans to save for their future, and vastly simplifies compliance. We cannot solve our growing debt problem without a tax system designed to do these things.
"We have all learned in recent months that large legislative changes to the economy, if they are to enjoy broad popular support, must be enacted on a bipartisan basis. Here are two Senators from different parties showing the kind of leadership we desperately need. They are to be commended, and their legislation ought to be the foundation for building a tax system suitable for addressing the grave economic challenges ahead."
