ROSEMONT, Ill., Jan. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CF Rail Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sasser Family Holdings, Inc., a transportation asset services and investments company, announced several changes that further the strategic growth and partnership endeavors that shaped its 2011 calendar year.
Effective January 01, 2012, CF Rail Services has assumed the operations of the railcar repair facility located at 205 Douglas Street in Longview, WA. As part of its partnership with Patriot Rail Corp., which began with CF Rail Services operating three Patriot-owned facilities in September of 2011, CF Rail Services will assume this current railcar repair operation as well as assuming most of its current employees. This adds to the CF Rail Services family which includes Hoosier Railcar, East Chicago, IN, Mississippi Railcar, Meridian, MS, Waycross Railcar, Waycross, GA, CF Rail Services Field Services, and CF Rail Services Longview, DeQueen/Valliant, & Columbus operating on the Patriot Rail Corp short line network.
In addition to the expanding their physical footprint, the management staff has expanded with the addition of Randy Ward, who recently accepted the position of Plant Manager of the Mississippi Railcar operation, "Randy has a great reputation within our industry and his tank car experience is a valued asset as we expand our tank car services," says Darrell Waldrop, Director of Mechanical Services. Randy joins the organization with an impressive tenure in the railroad industry, most recently at Rescar Industries serving as an Assistant Plant Manager.
Another move within the organization; Dross Hunter has been promoted to the position of Director of Field Services, overseeing the expanding leased location and mini shop operations. "Dross has done a remarkable job expanding our capabilities and customer base while Plant Manager at Mississippi Railcar. We now look forward to utilizing his experience in growing our Field Services group. Dross will have direct oversight of our new Patriot Rail partnership and with our growing running repair and mini-shop operations," says Bill Plavsic, newly promoted to Vice President.
CF Rail Services is also pleased to announce the promotion of Bill Plavsic from Director of Rail Services to Vice President overseeing all of CFRS operations.
