C.Fox Communications Announces N Street Village as 2010 Inspired Thought Award Recipient
Silver Spring, MD-based PR and Marketing Agency to Provide $20,000 in Pro Bono PR Services to the Washington, D.C. Nonprofit Serving Homeless and Low-Income Women
SILVER SPRING, Md., April 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- C.Fox Communications (C.Fox), a Silver Spring, MD-based public relations and marketing agency, today announced N Street Village as its 2010 inspired thought Award (it Award) winner. The D.C.-based nonprofit, which serves homeless and low-income women as they move to maximum self-sufficiency, exemplifies C.Fox's most important criterion for the it Award winner: what they do, they do for the good of others.
"After reviewing more than 35 applications from around the country, we are proud to select N Street Village for this year's pro bono award," said Carrie Fox, President of C.Fox Communications. "N Street Village's mission really resonated with us. Their model of care, the life changing work that they do, and their need and desire to tell that story is what moved us. Not only is this a mission-driven organization based in our own backyard, but as a woman-owned business ourselves we look forward to supporting this wonderful organization run by women, for women."
The it Award announcement comes after a three-month long application and selection process that demonstrated the incredible need of mission-driven organizations locally and across the country. Among the finalists were: Arlington, VA-based Reading Connection; Washington, D.C.-based Kid Power, Inc.; Los Angeles, CA-based All for Good; and Washington, D.C.-based KaBOOM!
"While we feel that N Street Village is well-known and respected within the nonprofit social services arena, we aren't as well positioned in the philanthropic community," said Mary Funke, Executive Director of N Street Village. "We are extraordinarily pleased that C.Fox Communications has chosen to work with us on strengthening community awareness and support. We are impressed by the C.Fox staff, their commitment to nonprofits, and look forward to working with them."
Services offered through the award include: Strategy, Writing/Messaging, Media Relations, Branding, and Social Media.
"Like many organizations, N Street Village must be strategic and creative to survive in a down economy. We look forward to creating an impactful communications campaign on their behalf, helping to ensure that N Street Village will continue to make a difference in the lives of so many women in our community," said Fox.
