Challenges in Hereditary Angioedema: Expert Viewpoint
Complimentary Continuing Medical Education ReachMD(R) Audio Activity for Physicians
VOORHEES, N.J., March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- There are many obstacles to diagnosing and effectively treating hereditary angioedema (HAE). Symptoms of HAE are often indistinguishable from other conditions and accurate diagnosis requires both detailed patient and family history, as well as a combination of laboratory tests. Symptom management has been the standard of care for many years for acute HAE attacks, however several new therapies have recently been approved by the FDA for HAE. In order to overcome the many challenges in managing the care of patients with HAE, healthcare professionals must be aware of the most current information available regarding HAE diagnosis and treatment strategies.
To address the need for current education on HAE, Robert Michael Educational Institute LLC (RMEI) and Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM) are jointly sponsoring a complimentary continuing medical education audio activity titled Challenges in Hereditary Angioedema: Expert Viewpoint which will be available on ReachMD on XM® Radio and on the ReachMD web site. This activity, which is supported by an educational grant from ViroPharma Incorporated, is certified for physicians.
The expert presenter for this continuing medical education activity is Marc Riedl, MD, MS from the University of California David Geffen School of Medicine in Los Angeles.
