Challenges in Hereditary Angioedema: Expert Viewpoint

VOORHEES, N.J., March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- There are many obstacles to diagnosing and effectively treating hereditary angioedema (HAE). Symptoms of HAE are often indistinguishable from other conditions and accurate diagnosis requires both detailed patient and family history, as well as a combination of laboratory tests. Symptom management has been the standard of care for many years for acute HAE attacks, however several new therapies have recently been approved by the FDA for HAE. In order to overcome the many challenges in managing the care of patients with HAE, healthcare professionals must be aware of the most current information available regarding HAE diagnosis and treatment strategies.
