Chanticleer Holdings Announces Grand Opening of Hooters in Cape Town

CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Chanticleer Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB: CCLR), announced the grand opening of Hooters™ on Edwards Street in Cape Town, South Africa.  To inaugurate the new location, Hooters hosted an exclusive VIP party this evening.  

Hooters™ on Edwards Street is located in the Manhattan Plaza, which is filled with popular bars, nightclubs and restaurants.  The new restaurant is one of three in South Africa including "Hooters™ on the Rocks" and "Hooters™ on the Buzz", located in Durban and Johannesburg, respectively.  The three restaurants are part of Chanticleer's joint venture with SGShaw Food, PTY of Durban, South Africa.

In addition to these three restaurants, Chanticleer Holdings and SGShaw Food PTY are contractually obligated to open four more Hooters restaurants in South Africa over the next four years but based on the success to date, see a much greater opportunity.

Hooters™ on Edward Street occupies nearly 6,000 square feet in the Manhattan Plaza on Edward Street and can accommodate 280 people, including a large outdoor patio. The invitation-only party included local celebrities, select VIPs, corporate sponsors and media as well as food and drinks.

Chanticleer Holdings, Inc. formed HOOT SA 111, LLC, for the purpose of contributing 50 percent of the start-up capital for the South Africa Hooters project in Cape Town. Chanticleer led this investment and raised the remainder from outside private investors. Chanticleer Advisors is the manager of HOOT SA 111, and will participate in the profits of all three Hooters South African operations.
