Charge.com to Give Away $500 Credit Card Terminals for Free
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In a move that is predicted to significantly alter the merchant account industry and push the United States closer to becoming a cashless society, Charge.com, one of the world's largest and most well-known credit card processors, has announced a program starting today to begin giving away credit card terminals to business owners who use its service. The terminals have a built-in, high-speed thermal printer and are currently being sold by other credit card processors for $500 or more.
"This change is going to revolutionize how business is done in the United States," said Greg Danzig, President of Charge.com. "Charge.com is a company that believes in affecting positive change in people's lives, and this program is a big part of doing that."
Combined with Charge.com's standing offer of a credit card merchant account with no set-up fee, no cancellation fee, no application fee, and 24-hour, live, toll-free phone support, this program will bring the ability to accept credit cards to hundreds of thousands of smaller businesses and sole proprietors who could never otherwise afford it.
On the Web for more than 16 years, Charge.com has transformed the merchant account industry by lowering costs for merchants who want to accept credit cards while, at the same time, improving the merchants' experience. While some merchant providers still charge application fees as high as $250, Charge.com eliminated application fees more than decade ago. And while many companies charge a set-up fee as high as $199, Charge.com charges $0.
While retail merchants will be the primary beneficiaries of Charge.com's offer, Charge.com will continue to provide Internet-based companies with free Virtual Terminal software and free Checks by Web, phone and fax software, with no set-up fee and no application fee. Internet-based companies will also continue to receive free 24-hour, live, toll-free phone support from the company for all Charge.com credit card processing services.
