Charles James Scott Clark Appointed To Board Of Southern Michigan Bancorp, Inc.

(OTCBB: SOMC) announced the appointment of Charles "Jamie" James Scott Clark to its Board of Directors.  "It's a great honor to welcome Jamie to our Board," stated John Castle, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Michigan Bancorp, Inc. As owner of CMS, Jamie is the third generation Clark family member to oversee the company, a joint venture formed by his father and grandfather 45 years ago. CMS provides commercial warehousing, transportation services, and logistics solutions with locations in Three Rivers, Sturgis, Kalamazoo, Portage, Battle Creek, Schoolcraft and Elkhart, IN.

Jamie is active in the Three Rivers community as a member of the Three Rivers Chamber of Commerce and its Public Policy Committee, and also served as chamber president in 2009. CMS is also a member of the Sturgis and Elkhart Chambers of Commerce and Southwest Michigan First. Philanthropy plays a significant role in Jamie's life as he and his company support the community by donating to the Scidmore Park Playground in Three Rivers and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. An avid cyclist, Jamie and the CMS bicycle race team of 50 members teach bike safety and hold bike camps for area youth. Through the Three Rivers Community Foundation, Jamie and CMS provide an annual scholarship in memory of his father and grandfather to a Three Rivers High School senior majoring in marketing or engineering.

Jamie is a graduate of Three Rivers High School and Western Michigan University and a life-long resident of southwest Michigan. He resides in Vicksburg with his wife Windy and their three children Charli, Bowie and Remy.
