Certified middle grades and secondary teachers (particularly math, sciences and special needs) are strongly encouraged to attend as there is very strong demand for candidates with these credentials. Some schools will also be looking for instructional coaches, deans, APs, grade-level and subject heads, and other professionals. There will also be many elementary schools recruiting at the fair.
According to Charter School Jobs CEO Kent Strong, "We are seeing extremely high demand for certified teachers across all grades and subjects. Employer tables for all 3 of our New York career fairs sold out months before the event date this year. There is a pretty serious teacher shortage right now here in New York City and across the country."
