Chat Privately with PhatChat's New Connections Feature
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- PhatChat, a social media app from Cover Media Labs, today announces the release of their latest feature, Connections, allowing users to continue conversations in a private venue without leaving the app.
A social media mobile app where people from all backgrounds, viewpoints and geographies gather to engage in constructive conversations on hot topics in real time, PhatChat users can join the conversation by searching for a specific hashtag of interest. Conversations and replies are posted anonymously with the choice to reveal at any time. Initially, each user has the ability to create one persona, or profile, but over time spent using the app, users can build additional personas to reflect different interests and focuses of their unique personality. The ability to create new profiles becomes available after users achieve specific milestones such as a certain number of comments posted, an increased number of followers, etc.
New with the Connections release is the ability to develop relationships with other PhatChat users through common interests tied to profiles, though this feature does not affect anonymous posts. With Connections, a user can:
- Follow interesting people – While users still have the option of posting anonymously, Connections enables users to follow others on the app. Using profile identity, notifications are sent to followers whenever the "followee" creates a new discussion topic.
- Become friends – If two people follow each other, they become friends. In addition to being notified of each other's new posts, friends have the ability to chat one-on-one. These chat sessions are private and not shared with others on PhatChat.
